Fire Extinguisher Technician
Summary:
The Fire Extinguisher Technician inspects and services portable fire extinguishers for customers.
The technician will drive to customer sites to perform service on the extinguishers.
DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Test, inspect and service portable fire extinguishers using hand tools, hydrostatic test equipment and monitoring devices in accordance with NFPA, local and state codes Inspect, service and repair emergency exit lighting systems at customer locations Complete inspection reports online Hydro-test high pressure cylinders as needed Dismantle extinguishers and examine mechanical parts, extinguishing agents and expelling means; replace worn or damaged parts Clean extinguishers and recharge them with approved materials Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Responsibilities:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, licenses and registrations required:
MA Certificate of Competency 46 - license for portable fire extinguishers Knowledge of NFPA codes a plus Hydrostatic certificate preferred Must maintain a valid drivers license and clean driving record OSHA 10 card COMPETENCIES:
